A pre-assembled package for the 5MX may be downloaded
from Brian Dushaw's psilinux site located HERE.

This site contains a set of notes on installing this package
(including the psion's fat16 partition from "disk1.tar.gz" and
the linux distribution from "disk2.tar.gz", as well as notes
on what is working, how to get it to work, etc. See the 5MX HOWTO
for more details; the 5MX HOWTO was written with this particular
distribution in mind, however distorted it may be. An abbreviated
list of what the package contains is given at the top of that
website. The two tar balls are located at the bottom of the web
page.

This package requires a compactflash disk of at least 64MB in
size.

The website and package are also getting rather dated (built
November 2001; revised slightly since then) - it is based on
an early version of Debian Woody, and the Woody package has
since evolved such that many of the newer *.deb's from the
Debian site might not be installable because of library
incompatibilities. The original "Woody" distribution from
which this one was built may be downloaded from here by going
to the "Woody" distribution (debian_woody.tar.gz).

The novice or newcomer may want to start out trying the ipkg
distribution given above.
